Crown provided support to EIA to support its website (www.eia.gov or EIA.gov), its varied web services (including its API and mapping capabilities) and communications products vital to EIA’s mandate of comprehensive data and information dissemination. The EIA.gov website receives more than 2 million visits per month and serves as a primary information source to Congress, Wall Street, the White House, the energy industry, and the media.

Crown worked with EIA to coordinate these activities to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency and consistency of product development efforts, as well as to reduce the risk for redundancy or duplication of efforts. Crowns support enabled EIA to increase consistency and coordination in: (1) new development of its websites and supporting web services, (2) long-term maintenance of said websites and web applications, (3) the style and voice for its content, and (4) dissemination-related business processes.

Crown was principally responsible for the content management and design of EIA’s print and electronic dissemination efforts. Crown formulated and conducted information and communications programs for the Agency and provided leadership in developing information materials that met the needs of the Agency’s customers and promoted the relevance and value of the Agency’s data, information, and analysis. Crown handled publication preparation, led improvements to EIA’s website, and operated EIA’s customer information center, where users can email to get help finding energy information.
