The Airspace Operations and Safety Program (AOSP) within NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) has relied on Crown to solicit, capture, summarize, and document “lessons learned” at the conclusion of numerous projects and subprojects.

We have done such projects for AAM National Campaign (NC), Automated Flight Contingency Management (AFCM), High Density Vertiports (HDV), Scalable Traffic Management for Emergency Response Operations (STEReO), Airspace Technology Demonstrations (ATD)-1, 2, and 3, Air Traffic Management eXploration (ATM-X), Integrated Demand Management (IDM), Increasing Diverse Operations (IDO), ATM Testbed, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM).

We have developed and refined an effective and efficient approach that is anchored by using experienced facilitators.

We start by identifying suitable participants. Crown then manages the logistics of scheduling the sessions.

Concurrent with identifying participants and coordinating the logistics, Crown develops a list of questions.

Following the interviews, we enter into the analysis and synthesis phase.

Our final briefing report presents a review of our technical approach and a detailed discussion of the lessons learned.

Benefit to NASA:  The leadership of Airspace Operations and Safety Program (AOSP) relies on these lessons learned tasks to understand both strengths and areas of needed improvement within their projects and subprojects.
