ARLINGTON, VA. — Glyn Owen has joined Crown to serve as the Vice President of Corporate Growth. In this role, Owen will drive and manage the business development pipeline and oversee strategic growth planning.
His 20-plus years of success in winning new business is the result of his ability to combine technology and customer insight to create cost-effective information management solutions.
“Glyn brings extensive and successful business development experience to Crown,” stated Afzal (“Al”) Khan, President and CEO of Crown Consulting. “His knowledge of FAA people, processes and technologies will, no doubt, help us stay at the forefront of aviation innovation.”
Owen’s knowledge of technology and the day-to-day information needs of FAA decision-makers has created a long-standing relationship with the FAA’s aeronautical information management (AIM) program and led to significant advances in AIM data management infrastructure.
The same is true for a host of full lifecycle management, software development, and operational deployment contracts for U.S. and international aviation customers, including the FAA, Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and EUROCONTROL. Owen has extensive experience with agile and scrum processes and has led multiple software-as-a-service application development projects.
Owen received the prestigious IHS Jane’s Innovation Award for developing ASSET, a cloud-based AIM software supporting air navigation service providers with electronic terrain, airspace management, and drone registry data. He was also honored with the Smart CXO Smart Award for Chief Operating Officer and was a sitting member of ICAO’s eTOD Annex 14 and 15 Forum.
Owen holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science/political economy from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also holds certificates of achievement in Effective Contracting and Management in Defense and in International Traffic in Arms Regulations from George Washington University.
