I am delighted to share good news with you on a contract award to Crown – an award that I signed earlier today.

The award – a three-year, multi-million dollar prime contract with NASA Glenn Research Center - will involve Crown in helping NASA to strengthen its business development, program management and peer-review processes. In the long-run, moreover, it will position Crown to support management of NASA programs and the formulation of strategic and technology development plans.

The contract carries the promise of expanded business in NASA markets, providing a gateway into NASA Centers. It is a “win” that, I believe, sets the stage for meaningful market diversification. More than anything, the award represents a text book example of organized and focused business development.

One of Crown’s most experienced senior consultants, Rich Christensen, identified this opportunity more than a year ago. With Jack Levine, he investigated the program for much of the following twelve months. The discussions that Rich and Jack held with Glenn managers and technical leaders helped the two of them to formulate a solution that the client would embrace. Several of our Crown colleagues – such as David Budin, Dr. Robert Rosen, and Stormy Thornhill - contributed to crafting the winning proposal, and deserve our thanks. Nevertheless, I must single out Rich for special praise for working tirelessly to set the foundation for an important win.
